- THE VIEW! of all the hotels to stay at in Shimbashi, this is the one for the unobstructed view of the city skyline and Mount Fuji in the distance. I tried my luck booking this over New Years for my partner and I and we got super lucky that on New Years Day 2024 we woke up to perfect bluebird skies and Mount Fuji in the distance. It was absolutely unforgettable. - Our room as mentioned had a giant window to Tokyo and the beds and pillow were suitably comfortable. A decent sized bathtub was welcome to soak in after a long days walking. There is also a comfortable chair with an ottoman but the window ledge itself has a soft cushion to sit on too watch the world below go by. - The hotel itself is a 4 star but has all the appearances of a plush 5 star hotel. The lobby on the 25 floor has floor to ceiling walls looking out to greater Tokyo from Shimbashi, with all the tallest buildings in Tokyo visible as well as Tokyo tower. - As an art appreciator, the plethora of curated works around the hotel is a welcome addition, only a shame that when I booked none of the art themed rooms were available. - As part of the Shimbashi business district the building is well connected to the metro with konbini in the basement levels as well as some good stores. The walk to the JR line is longer than it seems, so be wary of that if you're trying to maximise your JR Pass. - There are coin operated washing machines and dryer available should that be needed. - Even though most things were shut because of new years, we still found plenty of places to dine out at around the Shimbashi area.

The room is small, but very very well appointed. It has an outstanding coffee service to enjoy in the morning while overlooking Tokyo (my favorite part) and bath/shower amenities galore. The robe and slippers are a nice touch too for relaxing in. While there I dined four times at the onsite dining. Breakfast is light and well done, but the real standout is the outstanding dinner. This is a restaurant you would happily travel to, let alone have it in the lobby. Check it out. Lunch is super too. The views are outstanding. There are very few places in the world that you can watch the convergence of the most advanced train system in the world. As a transportation nerd, this was heaven. Last thing, the art of the hotel is not just some poorly done Gatlinburg style crap. It’s really really nice art, and each floor is its own showcase. Take the time to visit each floor. I ended up purchasing a piece while I was there.

Probably the best and nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Everything was wonderful. The staff were friendly, the check-in process was smooth (and they offered to hold our luggage since we arrived a little early), the views were incredible, and the art everywhere was beautiful. Especially in our room. We were so lucky to be able to stay in the Cherry Blossoms room by Hirako Otake - it was stunning. I spent half of my time admiring the room and the rest admiring the beautiful view of Tokyo Tower. The bathroom was nice as well; shower area much more spacious and comfortable compared to other Japanese hotels. You can also spend quite a good amount of time walking the halls of each floor admiring the art, all of which is available for purchase. I absolutely want to stay here again, it was worth every yenny.

Rachel

Really stylish art-loving hotel on the top floors of a modern skyscraper overlooking Tokyo Bay. Wonderful views from clean and functional room, and wonderful view of city centre from Reception. Helpful staff and free freshly machine-made coffee at any time of the day. Location was above the underground passages leading to Shimbashi station, so within tube-travel distance of almost anywhere in Tokyo, even if the immediate surroundings are notable only for the delightful and historic Hamarikyu Gardens.

Stephen

The views are spectacular and we got a room with a nice view for sun rise, even if at first we were dissapointed for not getting a room facing Mount Fuji. We could see Mount Fuji from the reception area The artist rooms are interesting as they are depicting some nice features of Japanese cultures. Of course, some rooms are nicer than others but we enjoyed ours There is Shiodome metro station very close by and you can easily move around
